Summer Reading

Hey, friends!

The first sign that summer is half over is the arrival of school supplies in Walmart's center aisles as soon as the last firework goes off at 11:59pm July 4th. And even though my youngest baby is heading off to college at the end of August, I still snagged a couple boxes of Crayola crayons because at no other time of year are those colorful waxy sticks only 50 cents. My grandsons are still in the breaking and tasting phases of crayons so I'll just have to save them for a little while.

When the Idaho sun is scorching hot and it's just way too icky and buggy to even think of being outside, it's a good time to work on my upcoming books. With the interest and excitement level still high for Lessons in Love and Lattes, I'm cranking out the word count for the follow-up. New characters are intermingling with original characters in hopes of another light and enjoyable read set in the fictitious mountain valley of Treasure Hollow.

Keep an eye out for a new picture book title in the Where's Fred? series where Rocky searches for his flying saucer.

And something different for me, a Christmas picture book is in the works right now. The illustrations are pretty detailed so it's taking many, many hours of squinting at the pages. (Side note: eye appointment for new glasses on Wednesday)

So when you've done enough chores or finished with a day at work, grab a cold beverage of choice and a good book. Kick back, relax, and enjoy. And hopefully one of your books in the TBR pile has my name on it ; )
